A private presentation of the Gene Transfer Center, which is currently under construction to become the first Russian platform to sell high-index semen from tested boars of PIC Danish lines, was held in Moscow. It gathered a small circle of the key partners, current and potential customers, including representatives of IMV and the National Union of Pig Breeders.

During the official part of the presentation, Otrada specialists spoke about the three aspects of the future of the Gene Transfer Center: Natalia Christensen highlighted the economic aspect, Dmitry Dyakonov — the peculiarities and features of production, and Jerome Kerleau scientifically substantiated the advantages of semen supplies as compared to managing own boar stud. Michael Cleve-Feld, Director for Applied Reproduction at PIC, shared the details of Brazilian experience as a successful example of changing the pig production approach from buying live boars to semen sales.
