On October 27, 2022, Otrada officially opened the doors of Russia's first commercial PIC Danish Lines Gene Transfer Center. It is an innovative and advanced project for the production of semen of elite Danish boars with the highest genetic merit. The site in the Stanovlyansky District of the Lipetsk Region with a capacity of up to 350 thousand semen doses per year will simultaneously hold 250 boars of Danish breeds: Otrada Landrace, Otrada Yorkshire and Otrada Duroc.
The opening ceremony was held at the production site itself and raised the interest of the region's top officials, as well as representatives of the leading pig production companies in the country.

"The construction of the Gene Transfer Center fundamentally changes the whole paradigm of the industry," comments Ivan Ageev, Commercial Director of Otrada. "The pork producers in Russia will now have access to elite genes directly from the very top of the breeding pyramid, without any genetic lag. This will enable our customers to take a few steps further in their production performance through employing the advanced genetics."

The Lipetsk Region and the Stanovlyansky District in particular are becoming the center of innovative development of the entire industry of pig farming. The new production site is designed to match the modern industry standards, which require an exceptional level of biosafety. Maximum automation of the production process will allow professional organization of commercial semen supplies, while modern state-of-the-art equipment used in the laboratory will guarantee the highest quality control of semen doses. Sales are scheduled to start at the end of 2022. Investments in the project amounted to more than 400 million rubles.
