On September 29th 2023 the genetics sales team took part in the 10th All-Belarusian Livestock Breeders Forum in Minsk. The purpose of the visit is to study the market of the Republic of Belarus.

This annual major event is the main communication and information-educational platform, uniting Belarusian specialists engaged in the agro-industrial complex and experts in various fields of agriculture (cattle breeding, pig breeding, poultry farming), as well as representatives of leading companies representing goods and services in the industry.

The business program of the forum included speeches by representatives of the relevant departments of the Republic of Belarus, practitioners and representatives of companies, as well as independent experts, who covered in detail and brought up for discussion the topical questions of the industry.

Anastasia Slobodskaya spoke as an independent expert on behalf of Otrada. In her speech, she covered the topic of an economically sound approach to building a breeding program, which is important for pig breeders. The main goal of the presentation was to focus the attention of specialists on the importance of the correct approach to assessing various breeding programs when choosing genetics for their farms.

As of now the breeding stock is imported to Belarus mainly from Europe, but in the current situation, business partnerships with European suppliers are very difficult and can end at any time. In this regard, specialists from pig-breeding companies in the republic are increasingly interested in the possibility of cooperation with genetic companies in Russia.

During the forum we managed to communicate with the heads and specialists of the largest pig farms in Belarus, both commercial and public. We also managed to meet and discuss the current situation with representatives of the State Breeding Associations of the Republic.

In conclusion, it needs to be noted that this event is significant for all specialists in Belarus, and is annually attended by representatives of almost all livestock companies.
